Every Monday and TuesdayPortlandCrafty Pirates & Pirate Tales at Portland Castle from 11am to 5pm - performances will last approx. 30 mins and take place at 11.30am, 1pm, 2.30pm and 4pm. Join us on Mondays in August and have fun making your own pirate accessories, then come back on Tuesdays, bringing your finished pirate attire to listen to pirate tales. Prices: Adults £5.30/Concessions £4.60/Children £3.10/Family £13.70 (each day). English Heritage Members: Free.
4BovingtonOutdoor Summer Evening Big Band & Jazz Concert at The Tank Museum. Formed in 2005 by members of other bands of the Corps, The Army Big Band from London have played all over the world with many renowned performers; Jools Holland being amongst them. On this special evening, the Big Band will perform a variety of Big Band and Jazz tunes guaranteed to get your toes tapping! A large floodlit stage will be positioned in the grounds of the Museum so that everyone will have a great view of the bands as they perform their repertoires. Visitors are welcome to bring seating and picnics and refreshments will be available to purchase on site from approved vendors. All concerts will commence at 7pm. Access on to the concert site will be from 5.30pm. Tickets for each concert: £10 (under 14s go free!). Summer Concert Season Ticket: £35.00 (all 4 summer concerts included). 9-15AbbotsburyWest Country Embroiderers, Exhibition of Work by Dorset Groups at Strangways Hall, Abbotsbury, Dorset DT3 4JR. The exhibition will be open from 10am - 4pm daily and admission is £1.50.
11FerndownRethink Family Fun Day at Dudsbury Golf Club. Try your hand at golf using the driving range and putting greens alongside the club's professionals. Other activities will include: a bouncy castle, games, activity stalls, raffle, face painting, BBQ and a DJ. AFC Bournemouth will also be attending on the day.

21AbbotsburyAbbotsbury Playground Launch at the Abbotsbury Recreation Ground. Abbotsbury Playground will be cutting the ribbon to the new playground. Entertainers will be there for all to enjoy, Weapons of Sound Workshop for the children, also Funny Face Entertainment will be providing face painting, balloon modelling, glitter tattoos and magical story-telling throughout the day and Juno Belly Dancers will be performing for us! A great raffle with some fab prizes. Tickets are available to buy now at the Abbotsbury Post Office.
21SpetisburyMusic and Merriment Festival at Spetisbury Rings, Spetisbury, Dorset, DT11 9DL. The music and merriment festival is back for a second amazing year! 12 hours of musical entertainment, kids club, circus skills workshops, fire juggling, hot air balloon display, local artists, food, the UK's only inflatable country pub, and acres of space for kids to play and enjoy, all set in the remarkable surroundings of Spetisbury Rings. The invention of six friends, passionate about the abundance of talent in their community, and the culmination of a lifelong dream, Music and Merriment is designed as a celebration and expression of local musical talent, community involvement and spirit. Uniquely, everyone who performs at or works on the festival does so for free, allowing us to produce this incredible event on a very tight budget, and donate every penny of profit to support local charities, including The Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

26-28KimmeridgeSerenata festival to be held on the Smedmore Estate, Kimmeridge. It is Britain's first classical music festival with many stars headlining the main stage.
28-29Wimborne'Vdub At The Pub'. Classic Volkswagen event at Wimborne Football Club with live music, great food, plenty for kids. Camping and day entrance. A charity event for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
28-30PamphillAll A-Board Artists Annual Charity Exhibition at Pamphill Parish Hall. More than 20 local artists in various media plus sales, raffles, teas.
29BridportBridport Vintage Market at the Old Albion, St Michaels, Bridport, Dorset DT6 3RR. Come and enjoy the Vintage Market situated within the Art and Vintage Quarter of Bridport on the last Sunday of each month from midday to 4pm. Antique Centre, six shops and lots of stalls for furniture, fabric, flowers and food along with all things vintage.
29Wimborne St GilesTraditional village fete on the village green with arena events including dog agility. Clown and other children's activities. Jazz band, bric a brac, preserves, plants, bottle stall, raffle, coconut shy, skittles and much more... Delicious home-made teas in the village hall.
