5PlushMusic at Plush 2010 - Plush 1 at St John's Church, Plush, Dorset DT2 7RJ. Imogen Cooper and Wolfgang Holzmair give the first ever Plush performance of Schumann's most famous song-cycle, 'Dichterliebe', alongside other Schumann Lieder and the quirkily engaging 'Volkston' pieces for cello and piano. Schumann Five Heine Lieder; Schumann 5 Stücke im Volkston,for cello and piano, Op. 102; Schumann Dichterliebe, Op. 48. Tickets: £20 (fund raising event).
12Portland1940s Day at Portland Castle from 10am to 5pm. Join us for games and a look around the military vehicles as they end their parade from Weymouth at around 1.30pm. Approximately 50 vehicles will make their way from Weymouth Pavilion, along the Esplanade and across the causeway to end their journey at the Castle. We will be offering themed refreshments from the café and families can get involved with traditional games. Prices: Adults £4.20/Concessions £3.60/Children £2.10/Family £10.50. English Heritage Members: Free.
15BroadstoneCharity Golf Day at Broadstone Golf Club, Wentworth Drive, Broadstone, Dorset BH18 8DQ. St John Ambulance Dorset is proud to be hosting their charity golf day at this prestigious golf club which offers a demanding but fair 6370 yard course. Entry fee is £40 per person/£160 per team. 18 holes and putting competition. Great prizes. Excellent buffet lunch with raffle and prize presentations. Hole sponsorship and advertising opportunities.
18PlushMusic at Plush 2010 - Plush 2 at St John's Church, Plush, Dorset DT2 7RJ. Prodigious pianist Kit Armstrong returns to Plush with the Szymanowski Quartet and Adrian Brendel. This concert traces a fascinating path from Bach to Schumann, culminating in Schumann's wonderful Piano Quintet. J.S.Bach Gamba Sonata in G; Bach-Liszt Fantasy and Fugue in G minor; Mendelssohn String Quartet in D, Op. 44/1; Schumann Piano Quintet, Op. 44. Tickets: £16.

The Szymanowski Quartet, Kit Armstrong and Adrian Brendel celebrate the best of French music with three masterpieces including Fauré's searingly beautiful Piano Quartet in G minor. Debussy Preludes for solo piano, book 1 (1-6); Ravel String Quartet in F; Fauré Piano Quartet in G minor, Op. 45. Tickets: £16.
19-20Cerne AbbasCerne Abbas Open Gardens. About 25 private gardens open in historic village from 2-6pm. All gardens within easy walking distance of the free car park. Plant stall and teas in the vicarage garden. Day ticket for entry to all gardens: adults £5, accompanied children free. Proceeds divided equally between St Mary's church organ fund and Dorchester Poverty Action Group.
25PlushMusic at Plush 2010 - Plush 4 at St John's Church, Plush, Dorset DT2 7RJ. Internationally renowned pianist Louis Lortie makes his festival debut, joining star violinist Anthony Marwood and accomplished Plush regulars for a concert including favourites such as Tchaikovsky's monumental piano trio. Janácek Violin Sonata; Kodály Duo for violin and cello, Op. 7; Tchaikovsky Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50. Tickets: £16.

Louis Lortie, Adrian Brendel and Katharine Gowers present a wonderful concert featuring sonatas by Chopin and Ravel alongside contemporary works by the celebrated composer Thomas Adès. Martinu Duo no. 2 for violin and cello; Chopin Cello sonata G minor, Op. 65; Adès Darknesse visible and Traced overhead; Ravel Sonata for violin and piano in G major. Tickets: £16.
