Dorset Events in February 2008

1	Blandford	English Mozart Ensemble is proud to present an evening of operatic arias and more at Blandford Parish Church. The ensemble is joined by two exceptional and internationally renowned singers, who have performed principal roles at the Royal Albert Hall, English National Opera, English Touring Opera and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Together they will be singing some of Mozart's most enduring and well-loved arias and duets, alongside the timeless Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and Sarasate's outrageously virtuosic violin showpiece based on melodies from Carmen.
1	Frome St Quintin	Winter Kitchen at Lesley Waters Cookery School. An exclusive opportunity to join Lesley in the kitchen at Chantmarle Manor for a hands-on day of watching, cooking and eating great food.
1	Sherborne	Brass Band Concert at Digby Hall in Hound Street from 7.30pm. See the Jaguar (Coventry) Band with Sherborne Town Band and Sherborne Youth Band. Adults £6, concessions £5, tickets available on the door.
2	Weymouth	World Wetlands Day walk at Radipole Lake RSPB Nature Reserve from 10am to midday.
2	Abbotsbury	West Fleet Walk. Join the warden on a walk in this secluded part of the Fleet taking in the birds, plants and geology. Meet in the Abbotsbury Swannery car park at 10am. Adults £2.50, children £1.50.
2	Wimborne	Sounds of the Glen Miller Era at the Tivoli Theatre. Recapture the sounds and memories of a bygone era as the Nick Ross Orchestra recreate the classic big band sound of the 1940s.
2-3	Litton Cheney	Gardens open at The Old Rectory to se the snowdrops flowering. Open 2pm to 4.30pm. Adults £3, children free.
8-10	Bournemouth	Sci Fi Ball - a charity weekend being held at the Carrington House Hotel on behalf of the MacMillan Cancer Unit at Christchurch Hospital.
9	Wyke Regis	Fossil Walk. Meet at the end of Camp Road at 2pm. The walk will look at the fossils of Pirates Cove and is approximately 2 miles long. Wear wellies.
9	Lyme Regis	Bon Giovi play at the Marine Theatre on Church Street from 8.30pm. Bio Giovi are a live, five-piece band - an excellent night out, especially for Bon Jovi fans.
9-30 Apr	Abbotsbury	Spring is Here at the Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens. Magnolia, camellia and spring colour.
14	Frome St Quintin	The Dorset Collection at Lesley Waters Cookery School at Chantmarle Manor. Surrounded as we are by the very finest ingredients, the Dorset Collection features Lesley's favourite dishes celebrating the very best of local Dorset produce.
13-16	Wimborne	Wimborne Drama present 'The Talented Mr Ripley' at the Tivoli Theatre. Shows are at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets £8 (£7 concessions Saturday matinee).
16	Dorchester	Dorchester Antiques Fair in the Corn Exchange from 9.30am to 4pm. Admission is free.
16	Halstock	Madame Lucinda's Wonder Show at the Village Hall from 7.30pm. Journey through the doors of the imagination into a world of mystery, spectacle and horror. Madame Lucinda's Wonder Show, presented by Rogue Theatre, beautifully blends the innocent with the macabre, optimism with the inescapable and the real with the fantastical. With live music, illusion, side-splitting comedy, dance, explosive physical theatre and compelling narrative. Not suitable for children under the age of 10.
16-24	Bournemouth	It's Hollywood Week at the Bournemouth Oceanarium. Along with a glamorous red carpet reception, visitors will be welcomed with a whole host of fun activities including 'famous fish' tours, a 'walk of fame' quiz trail, face painting, a Hollywood themed craft activity and special Spongebob Squarepants themed 'meet the creature' sessions.
19	Weymouth	Build a Bird Box in Radipole Park from 10am until 1pm.
20	Weymouth	Family wildlife walk at Radipole Lake RSPB Nature Reserve from 10am to midday.
22-23	Bournemouth	Rallye Sunseeker - the opening round of the National Rally Championship - will be held in Bournemouth and the surrounding area.
23	Broadmayne	Market in St Martin's Community Hall, next to the church from 10am until midday.
23-24	Weymouth	National Ranker Olympic Classes Regatta at Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.
23-1 March	Burton Bradstock	All for One, a swashbuckling musical play based on Dumas' The Three Musketeers, presented by the Burton Bradstock Players. Tickets £6 for adults and £4 for children at the Village Hall. Matinee at 2pm on 23rd only. Evening performances from 25th until 1st March.
24	Weymouth	Nature trek at Lodmoor RSPB Nature Reserve from 9.30am until 11.30am.
24	Lyme Regis	'Potted Potter' - the unauthorised Harry Potter experience - a parody by Dan and Jeff. All the Harry Potter books in sixty minutes at the Marine Theatre in Church Street.
24	East Lulworth	Wedding Fair at Lulworth Castle.
