3	Swanage	Purbeck Bus Rally at Main Beach Car Park, Victoria Avenue, Swanage, Dorset. A small selection of Buses & Coaches of past and present will gather here for Wessex Transport Society's second event and some vehicles will operate scheduled passenger services offering scenic views of the Purbeck Hills. A selection of stalls will be selling transport memorabilia.

21-23	Wimborne	'The Unexpected Guest' by Agatha Christie performed at The Tivoli Theatre. On a foggy night, Michael Starkwedder enters the home of the Warwicks through a window in the study. He finds the dead body of Richard Warwick with his wife, Laura, holding a gun. Despite the murder being obvious with overwhelming evidence, Starkwedder does not believe she killed him and she soon tells him she is innocent...

25-31	Portland	Haunted Halloween at Portland Castle from 11am to 4pm. Join us for spooky Halloween tales and fun activities at Portland Castle during this half-term week. Enjoy 'fangtastic' Halloween games with devilish prizes to be won! The whole family can try on armour, explore the Tudor kitchen and see ghostly sculpted figures from the past. 29-31	Poole	Poole Literary Festival. Three-day literary event celebrating the past, present & future of the word. Enjoy a stimulating and inspiring programme of events as Poole plays host to a wealth of literary talent. Poets, writers, artists and performers will be sharing their skills at this three-day festival. Meet your favourite authors and discover some new ones; take part in workshops, discussions and events. There will be plenty of activities for adults, children and families, all designed to ignite your passion for the written word. The programme features a mixture of serious and sparky events. Guests include former Children's laureate Michael Morpurgo, crime writer Minette Walters, authors Gervase Phinn, Deborah Moggach & Mavis Cheek, short story writer David Gaffney, artist Keira Rathbone (famous for using vintage typewriters to create her work), poets Elvis McGonagall and Luke Wright and Britain's first female Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.
